Rosa E Latorre

I’m originally from the Philippines but moved to New Jersey at the age of seven to live with my mother. I recently received my B.A. in Liberal Arts with a concentration of English Lit. The discipline of English Literature gives me a better understanding of details and close reading which gives me a better insight on life, colors, text, and basically everything around me.

My works of art have an underbelly of similarity but different skins. What I mean by that is all my paintings, sketches, photos, etc. may look different but their principles are the same. I do art because I appreciate lines, light, and vibrant dark colors. My basic color pallet are vivid and dark. With photography, it is the contrast of lines and lights along with its engagement to the environment that makes for captivating pictures.

What strikes me from others is my love for lines. In all my works, you can identify lines in many shapes. Another thing that sharpens me from the art group is my affinity for Sharpies. I use Sharpie with almost all my work as a starter. I do not think of what to make, rather, I use lines to take me to my next creation.

Question: 1. What if the world was Oblong? Do you think the world would be different? How?

or.. 2. I gave you a $100 dollars, what would you do with it?

Thanks Bloggers and World.
